The Full Story

About me

I am a self-taught fine artist, a Brummie born and bred and I've lived in Bearwood for over ten years. I loved art as a kid but like a lot of people I lost touch with painting as the hurley burley of life took over. I found my way back to art to help me stay sane when I was a stressed out secondary school teacher. I fell in love with painting all over again, allowing me to reignite my love for creativity and express myself through each brushstroke and vibrant colour in my work.

What I do

I create landscapes inspired by cherished memories of exploring local places with my grandfather, now revisited with my own son. My work reflects a deep personal connection, as I experiment with color, often challenging myself with limited palettes. I am captivated by the transformative power of light, which can dramatically alter the landscape in just moments. While I primarily use acrylics and mixed media, I continually seek new techniques and innovative ways to apply paint to the canvas.
