Where Indigo Sleeps

"Where Indigo Sleeps" is simple and familiar, like looking out over a quiet stretch of land on a cool day. The colours are natural and calm - blues, greys, and browns that blend into each other with soft edges. 
 
The sky is wide and pale, gently washed with blue and grey, while the ground looks damp and smooth, like wet sand or shallow water. The scene is not busy or forced. It's the kind of place you might pause for a moment to take a breath - quiet, steady and easy to be with.
 
I painted this using high quality and lightfast watercolour paints on archival, pure cotton Arches paper. It is presented unframed in a mat.
